Al the Epileptic Cat: The Beginning
Al was born in April 2021 in Cullman County, Alabama. From the start, he stood out. One of six kittens, he was unmistakable with his bright white fur and quiet confidence. There was something about him that felt different in the best way, and his mom named him Al without hesitation.

Living With Epilepsy
Not long after, it became clear that Al had epilepsy. It wasn’t easy, but it also wasn’t the end of joy. With careful medication, patience, and a lot of love, Al lived a happy, full life. He played, rested in sunbeams, supervised everything, and made it very clear when things were not up to his standards.
Along the way, Al found an unexpected community. People followed his journey, learned about feline epilepsy, and cheered him on through good days and hard ones. His story reached far beyond his home and helped many people better understand a condition that often goes unseen.
Al passed peacefully on August 18, 2023, held by the person who loved him most. His life was shorter than anyone wanted, but it was full of meaning.

Al’s Legacy
Al’s story is the reason Epileptic Al’s Shop exists.
What started as a way to honor one remarkable cat became a space for cat-inspired designs, epilepsy awareness, and expressive, conversation-starting pieces. Through this shop, Al’s memory lives on — helping keep awareness visible, encouraging curiosity, and supporting the hope that better treatments (and one day a cure) are possible for both animals and people living with epilepsy.
Al may be gone, but his impact is still very much here.

Al was a truly great cat. He was dealt a bad hand, but brought joy to those who knew and loved him. May his tiny spirit live on through this shop.
