AL the Epileptic Cat

AL the Epileptic Cat

Al the Epileptic Cat: The Beginning

AL was born in April 2021 in Cullman County, Alabama. From the beginning, there was something special about him. He was one of six kittens, but with his bright white fur and quiet little confidence, he was impossible to miss. He just had a way about him, different in the best possible way, and his mom knew right away that his name was AL.

Living With Epilepsy

Not long after, we realized AL had epilepsy. It was scary, and it was not always easy, but it never took away who he was. With careful medication, patience, and a whole lot of love, AL lived a happy, full life. He played, found the best sunbeams, supervised everything, and made it very clear when something was not up to his standards.

Along the way, AL found a community none of us expected. People followed his story, learned about feline epilepsy, and cheered him on through the good days and the hard ones. He helped people see epilepsy in a more personal way, not as something distant or clinical, but as something real, manageable, and worthy of understanding.

AL passed peacefully on August 18, 2023, held by the person who loved him most. His life was shorter than we ever wanted, but it mattered deeply.

Al’s Legacy

Al’s story is the reason Epileptic Al’s Shop exists.

What started as a way to honor one remarkable cat has become something bigger: A place for cat-inspired designs, epilepsy awareness, and pieces that help start real conversations.

Through this shop, AL’s memory continues to live on. Every design helps keep awareness visible, encourages people to ask questions, and supports the hope that better treatments, and one day a cure, are possible for both animals and people living with epilepsy.

AL may be gone, but his impact is still here.

Al was a truly great cat. He was dealt a bad hand, but brought joy to those who knew and loved him. May his tiny spirit live on through this shop.
